With a career spanning more than 20 years, Dr. Mukerji has been actively engaged as the head of a number of departments dealing with student services. She has been the primary coordinator for planning, facilitating, and implementing the support services with highest level of organizational efficiency and competency. She has been performing multi-faceted roles of an educator, trainer, and facilitator, responsible for performing key roles in learner recruitment management, student performance assessment process, and training, skill development and competency enhancement of higher education professionals. She also serves as an advisor, collaborator and liaison between the University and a network of higher education institutions for offering the academic programs. She is also a member of several key decision-making bodies including Academic Council of the University.

With a vast experience in higher education teaching, research, and management in IGNOU, Delhi and other higher education institutions, she is presently Additional Director (Professor Scale) from August 2016 onwards, responsible for student performance assessment and related support services management in the regional office at Noida (UP). She also worked in Department of Business Administration at Arab Open University Saudi Arabia for three years as a faculty member.

She has been actively engaged in academic research and publication, with more than 12 books to her credit on Educational Marketing, Interactive Technology Environments in Higher Education, and Transnational Collaborations and Learning. Additionally, she has authored book chapters and contributed articles in standard national and international journals and presented papers in national and international conferences. She was one of the Editors-in-Chief of International Journal of Technology and Educational Marketing (IJTEM) and is presently Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Technology-enabled Student Support Services (IJTESSS). Dr. Mukerji is a member of review committees for numerous international conferences and journals.

She was a Jawahar Lal Nehru scholar for doctorate in Human Resource Development, with Masters in Distance Education and Public Administration. Was an International Research Fellow of Open University Business School (2009) at Open University (UK).

Her current research interests include Dimensions of Human Resource Development and Performance Management, Application of Human Resource Development techniques in Higher Education Institutions, Higher Education Management, ICT in Higher Education with focus on use of technology in teaching and learning environments.
